Our Beginning
Junk Bear was established in October 2019 in Southington, CT as a “side hustle” of mine. I took my mid-size Toyota Tacoma truck and a 4×9 utility trailer and started running junk loads to the dump for people. I was doing this on the side of my corporate operations manager job for a year, so I’d run loads on my lunch break and right after work in the evenings!
Initial Challenges
I soon found out that this truck and trailer setup was far too small, so I bought an enclosed trailer that provided more space for junk hauling. Still, both of these trailers required me to unload them by hand, so I double-lifted all of this junk for about a year. I wanted to start “pushing a button” to dump all the junk so I could avoid the double-lifting altogether!
A Fresh Start
I left my corporate job to go all in on junk removal. Because of this, I started doing a lot bigger jobs, as we now had the capacity to do so. Then, we put an order in for our first, brand-new junk removal dump truck in the fourth quarter of 2020. We started running the dump truck in February 2021, and I was officially hooked!
Currently, we have 5 trucks in our fleet, and we are growing! We service jobs of all styles, from one-item pickups to full truckloads and whole house clean outs. We even took on our biggest job yet—a hoarder house that required twenty truckloads, which is equal to about 260 cubic yards of junk!

We are so excited about the future of Junk Bear LLC, and we will try our best to implement all the great pieces of information we learn from our consultants to grow into a five-star, multi-truck junk removal business!
